Interesting news for flower lovers is that the world’s best smelling flower, Titan Arum, an inhabitant of Indonesia, will blossom around this week, in Kew Gardens. The importance of this plant is that, it blooms only once for seven years. Titan Arum otherwise called as ‘corpse flower’, derives its name, because it produces a stinking smell of decaying flesh. The flowers of this plant are in cream or pink color and their stem produces the ailing smell indicating its readiness to pollinate. This smell draws the attention of flesh eating beetles thus falling as prey. Exciting information is that the plants grow every hour by quarter of an inch.
